A sanction of Rs. 12 lakh was levied against Shubman Gill for his slow over rate during the CSK vs. GT match.
Shubman Gill, captain of the Gujarat Titans, was fined Rs. 12 lakh on Wednesday for sustaining a sluggish overrate against the Chennai Super Kings in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match.
“Gill was fined Rs. 12 lakhs, as it was his team’s first violation of the season in accordance with the IPL’s Code of Conduct concerning minimum overrate offenses.” an IPL statement read.
Tuesday marked the first loss of the season for the Gill-led squad, which was defeated by 63 runs to the defending champion Chennai Super Kings.
Under Gill’s leadership for the first time as an IPL franchise owner, Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by six runs in the inaugural match.
